Generally speaking, when working with individual clients, I listen with intent and draw from my training as a coach, as well as my background in positive psychology and solution-focused therapy, to help clients develop their own next steps. I often tell people that it is not my job to merely hold people accountable or to create “list-makers” out of those who have never made lists. Instead, I help people work with their strengths, change their mindset, and develop new behaviors. As a result, most individual coaching clients would say coaching has helped them build confidence, reach goals, and introduce positive changes into many parts of their lives, even parts they weren’t intentionally working on.

I often tell clients that they ultimately will do all of the work. As a coach, my primary role is to help clients feel comfortable so they can explore their thoughts and ideas openly. I listen, ask questions, and reflect back. I act as a confidential sounding board. Ultimately, I provide an opportunity for clients to make discoveries about themselves and actively plan what they want to do next.
